Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, approachable, and skilled HR Manager to manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, with the support of a highly competent Office Manager. The role involves providing strategic and operational HR support to all employees and line management responsibility.
This position requires a hands-on individual who is naturally adept at nurturing positive relationships with employees, ensuring they feel supported and valued. The ideal candidate will have an established background in HR management, ideally within a marketing industry sector.
Working Hours: 3 days per week, 22.5 hours (Tuesday-Thursday) Office based, Ardwick.
Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Lifecycle Management:
- Manage talent acquisition, including job postings, interviews, and selection processes.
- Work with the Office Manager to deliver the onboarding process ensuring a positive integration experience.
- Support employee development through performance management, training, and career progression.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives to maintain a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Manage off-boarding processes, including exit interviews and ensuring a smooth transition.
HR Operations:
- Maintain and update HR policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration in collaboration with finance.
- Ensure accurate HR record-keeping and reporting, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster a supportive workplace culture.
- Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning and succession.
Line Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Office Manager, supporting their development and day-to-day responsibilities.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, set objectives, and review performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education/Certification:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR qualification (or working towards).
- A relevant degree or HR-related certifications would be an advantage.
Core Competencies/Experience:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar HR role, ideally within a creative or marketing environment.
- Demonstrable knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices in the UK.
- Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, development, and off-boarding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - the ability to communicate empathetically, influence and build strong working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Experience in resolving employee relations issues with a calm, fair, and thoughtful approach.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to remain calm and positive, even under pressure.
- Experience in line management and supporting team development through wellbeing or engagement initiatives.
