Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Human Resources Manager. You will lead a strong colleague-focused culture and play a leading part in creating and maintaining a learning and development presence in all areas of our business. You will lead initiatives on diversity and inclusion and be a key member of our Leadership Team with input into the company’s overall strategy.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s people strategy.
- Lead and manage a small human resources team working on a range of practices and projects, such as:
- Workforce planning and recruitment.
- On-boarding and exiting.
- Performance management.
- Learning and development.
- Payroll and bonuses.
- Employment law compliance.
- Industrial Relations (UNITE).
- Organise recruitment to meet the manpower planning needs.
- Identify, develop and implement innovative HR projects to improve employee engagement and organisational performance.
- HR Lead to help shape and implement People and Culture Projects - HR systems, HR policies, Group training programmes, Engagement and Culture activities.
- Develop and implement a plan to build and embed our culture and values across the organisation.
- Analyse and use HR metrics and data to inform the decisions of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Work with senior management to plan talent development and growth for the future, such as oversight of the company’s graduate trainee programme.
- Provide support, coaching, training and advice to managers and staff on all human resource issues.
Person Specification:
- Senior-level experience of managing people processes and culture in a unionised environment.
- Passionate about delivering a strong people-centric culture across the business.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Well-developed stakeholder management and liaison skills.
- Ability to understand information from key datasets and sources (e.g., Power BI).
- High degree of flexibility including a willingness to travel across multiple sites.
- Willingness to work on own initiative and be a ‘self-starter’ – this is not a desk-based job!
