Capital Delivery Project Manager with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea!

Your new company:

Our Social Investment and Property team is at the forefront of delivering projects that drive community growth and improve the borough's infrastructure.

Your new role:
Delivering New Homes and Capital Projects:

  1. Project Management: Ensure best practices in project management, including procurement and contract management, for successful and efficient delivery.
  2. Project Management Function: Contribute to the development, embedding, and delivery of best practice project management across all projects, including those managed by the supply chain and other providers.
  3. Council Strategies: Understand the Council's property and accommodation strategies and deliver projects that align with these strategies.
  4. Quality Assurance: Provide high-quality architectural, engineering, and surveying advice, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  5. Value for Money: Ensure projects deliver value for money, high-quality service, and meet client requirements to support the operational estate.
  6. Project Oversight: Take overall responsibility for planning, managing, and monitoring the delivery of your projects, including departmental and supplier-side innovation projects.
  7. Timely Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and represent value for money, achieving high satisfaction levels with service departments.
  8. Budget Management: Manage all elements of budget management for your projects from inception, support capital funding bids, source grant funding, and report regularly on cost and budget management.
  9. Collaboration: Work with colleagues to support project delivery, report into overall projects and budget trackers.
  10. Service Solutions: Collaborate with service departments and external partners to provide solutions based on agreed service plans and sound business cases and options appraisals.
  11. Reporting: Draft reports for projects and services as needed.

What you'll need to succeed:
Qualifications:

  1. Recognised project management qualification.
  2. Membership in a related property-based professional body (e.g., Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Building Surveyor, Chartered Architect, etc).

Skills, Experience, and Attitude Essential:

  1. Proven track record in developing and delivering mixed new build projects, with a focus on new-build homes.
  2. Demonstrable knowledge of the UK construction industry, including procurement legislation, supplier and contract management, and hands-on experience with various types of construction contracts.
  3. Experience in dealing with senior management, stakeholders, and elected members.
  4. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues and drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
  6. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  7. Ability to manage large budgets.
  8. Proven ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision or management.
