Job description

Business Development Manager - Construction, Gateshead

Optimum Skills is a leading training provider delivering Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Pre-employment, and Commercial Training. We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our Construction Team in Gateshead.

This position will focus on developing strong relationships with construction partners across the North East area and will be a client-facing, partly field-based role covering a set territory. It involves developing relationships and networks within the construction sector, helping to place our learners in appropriate apprenticeship roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identifying and targeting directors/decision makers of target businesses.
  2. Converting qualified leads to our services.
  3. Face-to-face consultations with potential clients to carry out Health and Safety checks and deliver thorough IAG.
  4. Generating further client referrals from your existing client base.
  5. Undertaking market research/analysis.
  6. Staying up-to-date and ahead of industry developments, legislation, compliance, etc.
  7. Assisting Senior Management with establishing and implementing business development and marketing strategy for any designated geographical area/sector.
  8. Working hand in hand with the construction team and wider business to support both learner and employer outcomes.
  9. Ensuring sales outcomes are achieved in line with team & individual KPI's.
Person Specification:
  1. Previous business development experience is preferred but not essential.
  2. Previous knowledge of the construction sector preferred but not essential.
  3. Proven sales results; meeting/exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  4. Socially confident with excellent presentation skills.
  5. Takes ownership and proposes solutions.
  6. Wants to work in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Must have own transport.

Salary: £30,000 per annum
