We are a hyper-growth Tech startup on a mission to revolutionise student rental. We’re now looking for an Assistant to our CEO to help us on the next stage of our journey.
We were formed after our co-founders, Harry and Ben, experienced the pain-points of renting a house while at university, and knew that there had to be a better way. We're now up and running in four UK cities and have launched in the US. In 2023 we were recognised by Tech Climbers as a rapidly scaling tech company, and we're currently fundraising to fuel our growth even further.
What you'll do
As the Assistant to our CEO at Housr, you will work directly alongside our CEO, playing a critical role in shaping the company's strategic direction and supporting investment raising activities. You will be the right-hand person to our CEO, handling a variety of tasks that include administrative duties and executive assistance. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-growth startup environment and contribute to the success of a cutting-edge PropTech company.
- Manage the CEO’s calendar, schedule meetings, and stay on top of shifting priorities.
- Book travel, organise logistics, and handle meeting prep and follow-ups.
- Provide admin support across the business and to the wider senior leadership team.
- Take care of personal tasks and errands like booking appointments, grabbing coffees during meetings, handling dry cleaning or coordinating deliveries.
- Help the CEO cut out time-wasting tasks and stay focused on business priorities.
- Spot bottlenecks or inefficiencies and suggest better ways to get things done.
- Support strategic projects including market research, investor coordination, pitch decks and data room management.
- Own high-priority one-off projects that need someone capable and proactive to make them happen.
What we're looking for
- Previous commercial experience in a similar support role (EA/PA, Chief of Staff or Ops Associate), ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment (ideally 18 months+ exp)
- Proven ability to manage a senior leader’s schedule, prioritise their time, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Confidence handling both business and personal tasks with the same level of ownership and care.
- Exceptionally organised with strong attention to detail. You naturally plan ahead and always have a backup plan ready.
- Strong communication skills: you can write a clear email, speak confidently with stakeholders, and keep things moving without needing to be chased.
- Comfortable working independently, solving problems quickly and staying calm under pressure.
- Bonus points if you’ve supported a founder or senior exec before or have worked closely with investors or external stakeholders.
What we offer
- Salary - Genuinely competitive: we'll give you a full breakdown at the intro stages.
- Share Options - The opportunity to gain from Housr’s success with our Share Options scheme (again, we’re happy to discuss during the interview process)
- Holiday - 25 days off, plus bank holidays each year
- Free Gym Membership - Keep fit, with free use of our on-site gym
- Monthly Team Lunches - At the end of each month, we all grab lunch together as a team, and also have the afternoon off to focus on ourselves
- Company socials - A chance to let our hair down as a team. Past socials have ranged from paintball to ping pong tournaments - we’re quite competitive!
- Central Office Space - Located in the heart of Manchester, and complete with on-site barista
- Hybrid Work Policy - We’re big advocates of in-person collaboration. We’re in the office four days a week, with Thursday as a team-wide work from home day.
Interview Process
- First Stage - Exploratory screening call with our Talent Partner (30 mins)
- Second Stage - Video call with our CEO & potentially COO (60 mins)
- Offer - If we think it’s a good fit, we’ll make you an offer!
