Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Oxford

Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE) + Up to 20% Bonus + Attractive Package

Our client is a privately owned contractor with a solution-focused approach, delivering large-scale accommodation projects across Student Accommodation, Care, and Residential sectors, with project values reaching up to £50m. With a strong financial standing and a recently secured £225m pipeline of new work over the next three years, they are looking to expand their commercial team.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial lead on a £20m Student Accommodation project in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career with a growing business that offers clear progression paths and exposure to large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assisting in the commercial management of the project, ensuring cost control and financial reporting.
2. Supporting the procurement process, including subcontractor selection and contract administration.
3. Assisting with valuations, variations, and final accounts to ensure financial performance aligns with budgets.
4. Supporting in cost forecasting and cash flow reporting.
5. Assisting with the preparation of monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations).
6. Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
7. Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

1. Experience working in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally but not essential within construction, student accommodation, care, or residential sectors.
2. Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
3. Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
