CIMMYT is seeking a proactive, energetic and customer service-oriented professional for the position of Global Wheat Program Administrator to work on the Global Wheat Program of CIMMYT.

The position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City (45 minutes from Mexico City).

Specific duties:

1. Administrative leadership for the Global Wheat Program:

• Lead the monthly GWP admin meetings.
• Serve as focal point for any administrative changes in the program.
• Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure administrative compliance.

1. Assist the Program Manager in gathering and analyzing information related to project management of GWP projects, ensuring compliance with project management minimum standards.

• Coordinate and lead the organization of all GWP related events including Field Days (Obregon and Toluca), as well as all other ad-hoc events as they arise.
• Serve as the focal point for all procurement activities in GWP:

• Receive and check quality requests before submitting.
• Build strong working relationships with procurement counterparts.
• Ensure follow-up on any problematic or delayed requests.
• Keep GWP counterparts informed on a regular basis regarding the progress of their requests.

1. Interaction with Clients and Event Management.
2. Provide administrative support for the GWP regional office staff.
3. Serve as administrative focal point for the GWP research stations in Mexico (Obregon and Toluca).
4. Contribute to the visibility of CIMMYT's research, partnerships, and impacts.
5. Perform other tasks and jobs related to project management, as may be required by the project or program manager(s).
6. Lead the submission and oversight of capital expenditure requests including the creation of purchase requests.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum verifiable experience of 5+ years managing in a similar position.
• Advanced English level (English C1).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience using ERPs on a daily basis.
• The selected candidate needs to have creativity, great communication, teamwork, and customer orientation.
