At posting, the estimated range is $215,000 to $310,000. We’re seeking an Employment & Labor Associate with 5–8 years of litigation experience, specifically in wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, and California FEHA matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending employers in complex employment litigation and advising clients on compliance strategies to mitigate risk.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Defend employers in wage and hour class actions and representative PAGA claims in state and federal courts.
  • Handle FEHA claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
  • Conduct exposure analyses and audits related to wage and hour compliance.
  • Represent clients before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH, and DLSE.
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment.
  • Collaborate with clients across industries including retail, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and staffing.
  • Provide strategic counseling to employers on employment policies, arbitration agreements, and litigation avoidance.

Skills and experience required:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice in California.
  • 5+ years of labor and employment litigation experience.
  • Demonstrated success in defending wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims.
  • Experience with FEHA litigation and administrative proceedings.
  • Proven track record of successful outcomes in high-stakes employment litigation.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to client service and responsiveness.
  • Experience defeating class certification and representative claims.
