What We Do
The Project Governance Office (PGO) manages the portfolio of projects for Fidelity Investments Canada (FIC), focusing on prioritization efforts in order to meet FIC’s regulatory obligations and strategic business development, and ensure adequate capacity planning for Information Services (IS) and Business resources.
The Scrum Master serves as a facilitator for cross-functional Agile teams working under the Scrum framework. They lead the Scrum Team and collaborate with the Product Owner to deliver technical capabilities to serve the business needs and strategic goals. They coach the Scrum Team, Product Owner and the organization in understanding Scrum theory and practice. They facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, the Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
The Scrum Master is accountable for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness by enabling the Scrum Team to improve its practices, within the Scrum framework.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Partner with the Product Owner for the Scrum Team to ensure the Scrum Team has enough information to turn a product backlog item into a potentially releasable / implementable item.
Assist the Product Owner in building an effective “Product” (i.e. business system / application) goal definition:
Establish or form Scrum teams as necessitated by initiatives / projects related to existing or new Products and in collaboration with the Product Owner:
Lead the Scrum Team to deliver on Product backlog items within a defined timebox, accounting for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness by enabling the team to improve its practices, within the Scrum framework.
