Aramark is seeking a Food and Nutrition Manager to oversee food and nutrition services for three (3) care facilities in Gander, NL.

NOTE: This is a 13-month contract position to cover an upcoming leave.

Reporting to the Regional Food Service Director, the Food and Nutrition Manager will lead the foodservice team in positively impacting patient and resident health and well-being by providing an exceptional foodservice that complies with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client.

1. Responsible for managing 3 site operations that includes acute care and long-term care facilities all within close proximity
2. Manages a unionized staff of sixty (60) hourly employees with the support of site Supervisors
3. Drives patient and resident satisfaction and maintains client relationships
4. Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards
5. Recruits, hires, and manages performance of food service employees
6. Oversees employee payroll and work schedules, maintaining adequate staffing levels
7. Oversees all financial reporting including operating budget, forecast, and results to achieve company and client objectives
8. Provides supportive leadership - a feeling of complete trust, security, and satisfaction through demonstrations of competence and willingness to serve
9. Delivers strong operational performance by executing Aramark and regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal nutrition care and meal service to patients and residents
10. Recognize and adopt activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient and resident population
11. Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patient and resident protected health information

1. Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition in a 4-year program is preferred
2. Dietitians of Canada accredited university food/nutrition program considered an asset
3. A Registered Dietitian (RD) is preferred for this contract position
4. 3+ years’ experience in food service operation and management in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred
5. Must be able to maintain highest level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
6. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers of client and support staff
7. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
8. A valid driver’s license and own vehicle is required for travel to sites close by
