GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Analytics Report Developer seeks out support to understand and interpret business requirements into corresponding analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions to be used by the business for decision making. This role tests and validates internal and external data in analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions; and builds, maintains, improves, and monitors the use of analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions to meet the overall needs of the business community. The Analytics Report Developer works closely with the Business Insights team to gain insight into how the business intends to use the analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions and the resulting business actions. This role ensures that the Data Policy and the Data Governance Framework are adhered to within their business portfolio.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Analytics, Reporting, and Visualization Solution Delivery
Responds to requests for analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions by understanding and interpreting business requirements.
Develops assigned analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions based on defined Data Office visualization standards that enable requirements traceability for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Conducts end-to-end analytics project lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing (System Integration Testing, UAT), deployment, and solution monitoring.
Designs and develops solution approach and implements all necessary technical dependencies (e.g., security [and privacy], report workspaces, report metadata) to enable analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions.
Works with the Business Insights team to understand and interpret business requirements and develops solutions in a clear, relevant format to facilitate and support timely decision-making.
Assists in reviewing business end-user community submitted self-serve analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions for broad publication and implements all necessary technical dependencies (e.g., SQL/Data Analysis Expression [DAX] reviews, security [and privacy], report workspaces, report metadata) to deploy business end-user community solutions.
Assists in peer reviews on team member analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions, as required.
Provides production support to ensure that analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions run as planned.
Collaborates with other departments in the Data Office on the development and deployment of analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions.
Data Management
Assists the Data Platform team in identifying and building enhancements for the Aurora platform. This includes requirements gathering, documenting data definitions, testing approaches, and workspace management and deployment.
Creates and maintains reference documentation for analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions, which includes but is not limited to definitions, intended users, and intended use.
Provides training to business end-users on the Aurora platform.
Mentors business end-users on available data analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions, including business glossary.
Works with the Data Platform team to identify and resolve data, technical, and performance issues with analytics, reporting, dashboards, and visualization solutions and Aurora, in general.
Collaborates with other Data Office departments on the Data Policy and the Data Governance Framework, as required.

Knowledge of reporting and visualization solutions, such as Power BI, as well as Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) or related tools.
Skill in documenting design for reporting and visualization solutions.
Skill to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of industry best practices for reporting and visualization solutions.
Analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve/propose solution approach to resolve stakeholder’s problems/needs.
Ability to visually present and communicate data, analyses, and findings.
Knowledge of relational database structure.
Knowledge of statistical and/or data analysis techniques and the ability to practically apply theories, including the ability to determine how to visually represent trends or metrics.
Knowledge of SGI’s evolving business strategies, business operations, and business processes.
Knowledge of the insurance industry.
Skill in using Azure cloud-based data platform solution components and architectures.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or defined equivalency.
EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years of experience as a reporting and analysis developer.
