SUMMARY:

This PMO will support the fundamental transformation and growth agenda of GDS Finance (ACR) from an organizational, technological, process, global connectivity, and engagement (KPI) tracking and optimization perspective. Project Managers will be responsible for tracking and monitoring of the projects or workstreams. These individuals are detail-oriented and specialize in breaking down and estimating the work associated with the project. They track, monitor, and drive closure to associated project risks and issues. Project Managers own compiling and facilitating/read out of the status reports and project plans. They define and ensure that the project’s critical path and work breakdown structure are being monitored and adhered to. They own the change control process and document any changes to the scope of the project and the relevant impacts that these changes have. The project’s budget vs. actuals are compiled by this individual. Decisions, dependencies, and action items are also documented and tracked by the project manager. They are experienced and hands-on with tools such as Microsoft Project and Project Server as well as SharePoint. They consistently bring to the attention of the team and their project sponsor any risks or issues that could impede the project’s scope, schedule, or budget.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages project financials / Overall tracking of the projects plan, financials, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and action items.
• Tracks, monitors, and manages resource and capacity management conflicts and demands.
• Tracks and monitors team chargeability developing tools that allow better tracking of the information.
• Supports and monitors people scheduling time vs. actuals, documents variances.
• Oversees the maintenance of tools and drives the infusion of technology into our engagements in close cooperation with our Technology group.
• Supports the location optimization of the engagement delivery and leads possible transition planning and executions.
• Supports the annual performance team process and defines roles and responsibilities.
• Coordinates people developing skills in different areas.
• Monitors closely the quality performance of the team and application on engagement.
• Facilitates weekly status meetings to review status, key decisions, impediments, dependencies, and critical path milestones. Puts in place mitigation plans for key impediments based on topics above.

• Clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional project teams and functional management.
• Exceptional project management skills and hands-on expertise with tools such as SharePoint and Project Server.
• Business acumen; ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective.
• Demonstrates initiative; results-oriented.
• Excellent decision-making skills – ability to negotiate and balance decisions and manage competing priorities across multiple functional areas.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

• 6-8+ years of experience leading large, complex projects.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Project manager experience.
• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives.

• Experience with Planview, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
• Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field.
