Job summary
A leading recruitment firm in Cape Town seeks a qualified Millwright to join the Maintenance Department, offering a salary of R28,000–R30,000 per month. The successful candidate will diagnose and repair electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical faults while ensuring optimal plant performance and production uptime. A Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) is required, along with 1-2 years of experience in FMCG or manufacturing. Flexible working hours, including shifts, may also be necessary.

- Perform machine repairs, lubrication, installation, and dismantling according to technical drawings.
- Assist with supervision and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and plant procedures.

An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Millwright to join the Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will play a key role in ensuring optimal plant performance and production uptime.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical faults to maximise plant uptime
- Replace defective machine components and adjust the alignment of moving parts
- Perform machine repairs, lubrication, installation, and dismantling according to technical drawings
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of maintenance activities
- Support the maintenance team with general tasks when required
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and plant procedures
- Trade Test Certificate: Millwright (Red Seal)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an FMCG/manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments
- Own reliable transport
- Excellent communication, planning, and multitasking ability
- A flexible and proactive get it done attitude
- Exposure to food processing environments
- Experience with instrumentation, PLC (S5), AC/DC drives, and HMI systems
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards, and SOPs
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
Candidates must be flexible to work shifts, including:
- Standby, weekends, and public holidays may be required based on operational needs
