Supporting all components of Chubb’s Virtual Desktop support areas that employees and contractors utilize, the organization is the first point of contact that the Chubb community leverages to obtain support.
We are looking for a Virtual Desktop Administrator (VMWare Engineer) to help maintain and progress our Global Virtual Desktop Infrastructure as a member of our Operations team.
Responsibilities include:
Experience with Server 2019+
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining virtualization systems such as VMWare VSphere/WorkspaceOne
Administering and managing VMware Horizon Connection Server 8.X
Administering and managing VMware Horizon Virtual Desktops and Applications 8.X
Administering of Vmware snapshots Templates and cloning
Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify issues and provide solutions
Develop and maintain documentation related to VMware environments
Automate and streamline operations with scripting and other tools
Collaborate with software developers and other IT staff to ensure the successful implementation of company applications
Patching and updating operating systems and apps
Ability to check the health of Hosts and VM objects in vCenter
Providing end-user support and troubleshooting for customers across the globe.
Performing system administration duties for Windows-based systems, both on-premises and in cloud environments.
Provide day to day data management and monitoring support for distributed data systems.
As needed support after hours to support major incidents or to perform system maintenance
Develops, analyzes, and publishes metrics to ensure high quality of service and makes recommendations for changes based on specific trends, market comparisons
Continuously improve the user experience by optimizing desktop performance, application delivery, and remote access capabilities.
Engage in collaborative efforts with second and third level technology teams, both domestically and internationally, to resolve complex or urgent issues.
Required Skills
Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, and manage competing priorities
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience recommended
Prior experience in a corporate IT environment, ideally in a role requiring fast paced, high-level support.
Administration skills specific to system upgrades, and maintenance
5+ years of proven experience as a VMWare or VDI Administrator
Experience in IT Infrastructure and Virtualization including VMware vSphere 7, VMware Horizon View 8.x, Storage Solutions, Windows Server, Active Directory, WorkspaceOne
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Spanish)
Ability to track, manage, and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
Proven capability to balance high-volume workloads with detailed analytical troubleshooting and complex problem resolution.
Be a strong, dynamic character, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues and business users working in a constantly evolving environment.
ITIL certification and an understanding of Agile methodologies preferred
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
