We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in AMERICAS at Mexico City, Mexico.

Job Purpose: The Director of Transportation will lead and oversee the Transportation Sourcing Team in Mexico, focusing on managing and optimizing carrier partnerships within the Mexican transportation market. This role is critical for designing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability of transportation services in alignment with the company's supply chain objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Mexican carrier market, strong negotiation skills, and a proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with carriers.

Your tasks:

Strategic Leadership:

  1. Develop and execute a transportation sourcing strategy for the Mexican market aligned with the overall supply chain goals.
  2. Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Carrier Management:

  1. Identify, evaluate, and onboard carriers to meet business needs, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards.
  2. Build strong partnerships with key carriers, maintaining open communication and ensuring performance metrics are consistently achieved.

Negotiations and Contracts:

  1. Lead complex negotiations with carriers to secure competitive pricing and service agreements.
  2. Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Market Expertise:

  1. Stay informed about trends, risks, and opportunities within the Mexican transportation market.
  2. Leverage market insights to make data-driven decisions and advise leadership on strategic initiatives.

Operational Excellence:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address transportation challenges, optimize routing, and enhance service delivery.
  2. Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.

Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Ensure transportation operations adhere to Mexican laws and regulations, including customs and cross-border requirements.

Your profile:

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation sourcing, supply chain management, or logistics, with a focus on the Mexican market.
  3. Proven track record of managing carrier relationships and leading successful negotiations.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. In-depth knowledge of the Mexican carrier market and industry best practices.
  2. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  4. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and decision-making.
  5. Familiarity with supply chain management systems and tools.

Language:

  1. Fluency in Spanish and English (required).
