Role:

Provides day-to-day technical and administrative support for logistics staff and activities. Tracks inbound ground transportation loads effectively to provide excellent customer service to Cat facilities. Partners successfully with transportation providers and suppliers to achieve Tier 1 metric goals. Improves visibility, communication and processes through continuous improvement ideas.

What the candidate will do:

• Tracking and reporting on activities, costs and expenditures for all transportation modes.
• Verifying operational status is updated accurately and completely.
• Notifying departments of shipping or receiving schedules and of any logistics problems.
• Maintaining records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers and customers on load status.
• Supporting customers and partners to ensure pickups and deliveries are executed on time.
• Provide improvement ideas and results according to operational gaps.
• Analyze Tier 1 metrics and implement actions to close operational gaps.

Degree Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, international business, international relations, or related fields is required, or candidates should be close to graduation in one of these disciplines.
• Advanced English proficiency.

• Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies.
• Assists in establishing a standard operating procedure based on workflow and environment review.
• Reviews the efficiency of standard operating procedures in terms of performance improvement.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail:

• Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights.
• Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned.
• Develops and uses checklists to ensure that information goes out error-free.

Analytical Thinking:

• Names specific tools or techniques that can be used to support the analytical thinking process.
• Gives examples of how analytical thinking has been used to resolve problems.

Import/Export - MFG:

• Identifies basic documentation required for importing or exporting goods.
• Displays an overall understanding of the import and export process.

Transportation - MFG:

• Participates in arranging transportation of goods.
• Ensures on-time shipments; anticipates and resolves shipping problems.
• Works with at least one type of transportation mode and carrier.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
