Role Definition

Performs most complex tool design tasks with no direct supervision. Daily responsibilities include: interpreting tool orders for critical information, developing tooling concepts, reviewing concepts with internal customers, creating manufacturing drawings, monitoring performance to estimated hours, and communicating with fabrication personnel to ensure a quality project result.

Responsibilities

  1. Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  2. Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
  3. Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
  4. Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • English Fluent

  4. Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  5. 3D Software: Knowledge of the types, features, and tools of 3D software; ability to use, implement, test, and upgrade the software package in the process of 3D model production.
  6. Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate, and test product design drafts.
  7. Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques, and tools; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
  8. Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect, and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
