Test Engineer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Aid in the design of test solutions for new product introduction programs using a systems approach and standard test platforms where applicable, and in line with engineering technical requirements.
2. Aid in writing and compiling of test software applicable to the test platform & product requirements and in line with project timescales.
3. Development of appropriate test and process documentation, technician & operator training and development of best in class repair diagnostics.
4. Support in defining and purchasing test equipment, driving suppliers to reduce cost and improve performance.
5. Reducing test costs through yield improvement and hardware cost reduction projects.
6. Sustain and maintain test equipment through the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures and specifications.
7. Perform failure analysis on equipment, and implement cost effective improvements necessary to assure the highest possible process and equipment reliability.
8. Preparing procurement documentation including equipment specifications and coordinating equipment upgrades and/or installations with suppliers and internal personnel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
2. Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. ATS, TVSS, LoadBank & Fire Pump Controllers experience highly desired.
4. Ability to read and understand electrical & electronic circuit diagrams as well as product specs & BOM’s.
5. Well developed oral and written communication skills. Bilingual is desired.
6. Ability to work as part of an integrated project team to tight timescales.
7. Strong organizational skills to complete multiple tasks concurrently are essential.
8. ISO 9000 fundamentals.
9. Basic knowledge of PC based test equipment using PCI based instrument systems.
10. PC programming language fundamentals.
11. Ability to fault find to sub-system and component level as appropriate.
12. Knowledge of electronic system assembly techniques e.g., soldering, wiring, crimping, etc.
13. Experience of dealing with sub contract companies and driving supply chain to set objectives.
14. Ability to develop and accurately document processes and train technicians and operators on equipment procedures.
15. Strong knowledge on test equipment meters, DMM’s, hi-pot, mA testers, oscilloscope. PLC’s experience highly desired.
16. Knowledge of 3 phase systems and configurations.
