Technical Program Manager, AWS Marketing Tech, Customer Channel Technology

The Customer Channel Technology (CCTech) Team within the AWS Marketing Technology organization is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally, and will lead multi-discipline, highly technical project initiatives. The ideal candidate will be familiar with one or more AWS products, and will have successfully managed multiple technology projects. The TPM will be fully competent in project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.


Key job responsibilities

  1. Work with engineers, product managers, program managers and other members of the AWS Marketing Technology team to coordinate the launch of different services and products.
  2. Identify process improvement opportunities and high-risk areas.
  3. Work with service owners to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  4. Manage technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, driving scope, sprint/scrum ceremonies, project planning, schedule, budget and coordinating release schedules.
  5. Drive requirements and process improvements.
  6. Evaluate system-level technical design.
  7. Support business and stakeholders by seeking out opportunities to simplify and automate metrics and reporting.

A day in the life

You work closely with Product Management and Engineering resources across one or more technical projects. You help drive those projects forward, interacting with multiple stakeholders, making sure project is on track, and delivered with the highest quality. You implement and innovate new mechanisms leveraging data and KPIs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 3+ years of software development experience.
  2. 3+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  3. 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  4. Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  5. Experience in defining and setting up project level KPIs, metrics, data analysis, improving end to end delivery processes, and setting up program level initiatives.
  6. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field.
  7. Able to communicate effectively in English, within technical and business settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  2. Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design.
  3. 2+ years hands-on experience with Agile (certification preferred) methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  4. Familiarity with AWS Services & Tools.
  5. Experience with program management tools such as Asana or Workfront, or Content Management Systems (Adobe).
  6. Knowledge of software architecture and development methodologies, APIs, scripting and programming languages, SQL, or data analysis tools.
