Systems Engineer/Administrator- VMware- Onsite

Job Description

Responsible for the optimal functioning of system and storage components:

1. Implements the tools guaranteeing the coherence of the infrastructures;
2. Has global vision of information systems and good knowledge of the company processes;
3. Develops rules for using the necessary tools, in accordance with company standards;
4. Documents, promotes and monitors their applications;

Installation and Testing

1. Installs the active part of the connections (ESX, servers, storages) and system software;
2. Respects the installation, connection procedures for hardware and software;

Monitoring

1. Understand the impacts on production;
2. Ensure the operability of proposed solutions and the associated organization;
3. Control of project security constraints.

Technical Referent

1. Define roadmap for infrastructure developments (new hardware, software version, sourcing strategy);
2. Define the roadmap of changes in the services offered to businesses and internal customers;

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree required in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
2. Requires 8+ years experience - VMware, Citrix, Storage and Windows Server.
3. Prefers Linux OS knowledge.
4. Prefers VMware, Citrix, NetApp certifications.
5. Prefers 7 years in server hardware maintenance and support.

1. Data Storage Solutions knowledge and administration – Expert (NetApp, EMC – preferred).
2. Server/Storage hardware familiarity – Expert (Dell, HP, EMC, NetApp hardware – preferred).
3. VMware Administration – Expert. High proficiency with vSphere, vSAN, and other VMware products and platforms.
4. In general, they must be adept at network engineering, with working knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks, and operating systems.
5. Citrix App and Desktop Virtualization – Expert.
6. Systems Backup Technologies – Advanced (Veritas, Commvault – Preferred).
