Summary
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Maintains responsibility for global negotiations of multiple commodities and/or expert in a specific field or commodity.
- Develops competitive advantage for Celestica by leveraging multiple commodities globally or developing strategic initiatives.
- Establishes global benchmarks for commodity performance and strategies for global corporate commodity negotiations.
- Leads negotiations for high impact commodities, providing guidance on negotiations strategy and planning, developing a commodity strategy, and consistent communication with suppliers.
- Acts as a commodity consultant to identify and manage strategic SCM initiatives.
- Maintains global or regional responsibility for a strategic and/or high dollar commodity or group of commodities for price/value determination, product and/or service negotiations, terms and conditions, supplier relationship development, and performance feedback.
- Provides guidance and support throughout the worldwide sourcing process.
- Provides site direction and performance reporting for cost analysis to senior management.
- Assists in team development and planning, recruitment/first line candidate selection and screening, developing training plans for new employees, mentoring new employees.
- Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities including industry pricing, technology, supply/demand, and emerging trends.
- Excellent knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.
- Strong understanding of global business environment and customers' business, organization, products, and processes.
- Expert knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
- Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
- Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional overnight travel is required.
Typical Experience
- Eight plus years of experience.
Typical Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
