Summary

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Maintains responsibility for global negotiations of multiple commodities and/or expert in a specific field or commodity.
• Develops competitive advantage for Celestica by leveraging multiple commodities globally or developing strategic initiatives.
• Establishes global benchmarks for commodity performance and strategies for global corporate commodity negotiations.
• Leads negotiations for high impact commodities, providing guidance on negotiations strategy and planning, developing a commodity strategy, and consistent communication with suppliers.
• Acts as a commodity consultant to identify and manage strategic SCM initiatives.
• Maintains global or regional responsibility for a strategic and/or high dollar commodity or group of commodities for price/value determination, product and/or service negotiations, terms and conditions, supplier relationship development, and performance feedback.
• Provides guidance and support throughout the worldwide sourcing process.
• Provides site direction and performance reporting for cost analysis to senior management.
• Assists in team development and planning, recruitment/first line candidate selection and screening, developing training plans for new employees, mentoring new employees.
• Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities including industry pricing, technology, supply/demand, and emerging trends.
• Excellent knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.
• Strong understanding of global business environment and customers' business, organization, products, and processes.
• Expert knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

• Eight plus years of experience.

Typical Education

• Bachelor's degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
