Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
What your background should look like:
Bachelor’s Degree in technical field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Knowledge in Basic Quality techniques
Knowledge of statistical analysis tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong design/development skills
Ability to challenge technical solutions and processes
Ability to work with multicultural engineering teams
Adaptability to changing priorities, strategies and business conditions
Experienced in Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with 3D & 2D CAD design (preferred)
Experience in working with formal Engineering documentation procedures
Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to communicate effectively and accurately across multi-cultural groups
Self-Motivated, Adaptive, Passionate about results and a Good Team Player
Demonstrated history of working in a fast-paced/changing environment with ability to work to tight deadlines
Total Experience in Engineering 7+ years
Key Responsibilities:
Work with multi-functional project teams consisting of Sales, Product Management, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Global Product Approvals and Outside Vendors
Work on designs in development of product line extensions using pertinent information to ensure accuracy and precision in production of the product
Lead Design to Value (DTV) projects for existing product lines to reduce cost and increase product competitiveness for local market
Evaluate manufacturing deviations and make decisions on deviation acceptance
Manage tool transfer approvals
Create & edit designs and specifications to facilitate manufacturing and new product extensions
Coordinate with labs to ensure product testing and design validation testing
Evaluate and implement material change including polymers and metals
Prepare for First Article Approvals, Process Capability Studies, 8D reports and 5 WHY analyses
Work with Product Lifecycle Management and Engineering documentation management systems
Address product enquiries and product complaints arising for responsible products
Enter Purchase Requisitions for Samples and Safety Agency approvals
