Sr Manager IT Program Management

We are looking for a Sr Manager IT Program Management to be part of our HUB IT North America Team

The role

The Sr. Manager, IT Program Management, is both a senior leader and an individual contributor within the North America IT PMO. The key focus areas for this role are, but not limited to, leading a team of program and project managers, building team capabilities and professional growth, assigning and managing resource allocation, defining and implementing a digitization & Agile strategy, and leading key enterprise-wide initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • Directly lead a team of 8 to 12 program and project managers.
  • Own the development planning for all program and project managers within the broader team.
  • Prepare and execute the team’s training strategy.
  • In partnership with the Director of IT PMO, develop and communicate a clear capability path outlining the skills and behaviors required to grow project management skillset.
  • Own the planning and assignment of program and project managers to projects.
  • In partnership with the Director of IT PMO, define a digitization & Agile strategy and own the execution.
  • Lead large-scale enterprise-wide initiatives, managing a cross-functional team comprised of local, regional and global resources, ensuring delivery is within scope, timeline and company-defined budget variance.
  • May support the Director of IT PMO in managing the department’s annual budget ensuring that all Financial targets are met.
  • Build relationships with business and IT leaders, program/project sponsors, and local, regional and global colleagues across Nestle.
  • Other activities as directed by the Director of IT PMO.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • 10+ years of diverse roles and increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs, including agile projects and programs.
  • Must have expert financial acumen, managing budgets of upwards of five million dollars.
  • Advanced leadership skills and experience with end-to-end mindset ownership & driving proactive approach to ensuring successful program/project deliverable.
  • Advanced leadership skills and track record in developing people, particularly in managing virtual teams.
  • Ability to manage cultural diversity: respect for various cultures and understanding how to work with a variety of cultures in the most effective way.
  • Ability to quickly learn the interworking of a complex organization to ensure the team receives the level of support and attention needed.
  • Increasing development of business intimacy and business language to effectively engage and demonstrate business understanding and priority with the Business sponsor and Business project team.
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal) to appropriately and effectively articulate status and concerns at all levels in the organization--with senior leaders through to project team members and third-party service/solution providers.
  • Expert ability to manage through ambiguity by proactively anticipating issues, needs, concerns, and risks.
  • Expert facilitation skills and critical thinking skills to effectively manage and resolve issues, and/or conflicts in a cross-functional environment; able to lead teams and the program/project through crisis management that builds confidence and enables collaboration at all levels in the organization.
  • Expert ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and with experience to dynamically prioritize and re-prioritize work for herself/himself and the program/project team as appropriate.
  • Advanced experience working in a matrix organization in a global environment with virtual teams including external partners.
  • Advanced development of influencing skills and ability to leverage in interactions at all levels of the matrix organization to ensure program/project execution moves forward towards successful delivery.
  • Experience in managing change/transitions.
  • PMP and Agile certifications are desired.
  • Substantial consulting leadership experience a plus.
