Job Summary

The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading all tactical solution delivery for digital transformation within Nissan's automotive financial services. The Senior Manager will partner and work closely with regional business leadership to understand the overall business strategy and lead the effective solution delivery / technology roadmap in support of that strategy.

The Senior Manager is expected to understand Nissan business strategies and initiatives to develop information technology strategies and roadmaps. They will manage teams of individuals whose primary objectives are to coordinate with the business units and information system (IS) vendors, facilitate application or technical infrastructure development, manage ongoing application or infrastructure production support, and participate in budget planning. Manages coordination with NML and the North American affiliate companies as required for specific projects. Identifies, implements, and manages policies, procedures, and processes that contribute to the organization’s objectives.

  • Strategy: For the business units and/or technology area you support, align with business to thoroughly understand strategy and develop technology roadmaps to support. Align the required project portfolio, initiatives and budget to support it. This includes alignment with regional and global strategies as well.
  • Roadmap: For the business and/or technology areas you support, oversee managers to establish the plan, timing and order of initiatives that support the business strategy/initiatives, maintain current levels of hardware/software, plans and support cloud migration of core systems and accounts for changes in regulations, information security.
  • Business Value: Proactively align with business and lead teams in raising new initiatives, automation, digitalization and innovation that offer additional business value, improve the customer experience, solve business problems and/or provide efficiencies to the organization.
  • Serves as technology leader within Nissan Digital having thorough knowledge on various technologies and platforms. Understand industry best practices and standards to ensure continuous optimization of delivery effectiveness. Frequently sought out by others across the enterprise for their expertise and guidance.
  • Design and facilitate the migration of core business systems (e.g. Credit life cycle, Automotive customer Journey and Customer and Dealers Experience services) focusing on cloud-based solutions (e.g. AWS Cloud).
  • Coordinates the initiation, assessment, approval, and status of all Requests for Service submitted to vendors. Assists in problem escalation with vendors and the resolution of cross-company issues.
  • Budgeting: Establish and manage annual budget planning process, determine all costs (projects, software, maintenance, etc.), drive cost reduction efforts. Oversee communication of budget to senior business and IS management.
  • For projects and applications ensure solutions and architecture are well thought out, align with business & technology roadmap, provides high availability, and maximize regional/global reuse & supportability.
  • Program Management: Oversee managers and project managers ensure projects align with desired business outcome, on planned schedule, manage scope, escalate issues, hold vendors accountable, ensure status is reported to senior management, and maintain budgeted cost.
  • Product Management: ensures managers applications adhere to cyber security standards, technology standards, processes, and policies.
  • Has subordinate managers (not supervisors) and/or senior level individual contributors or contractors. Direct and build high performing team. Manages employees by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases. Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training, career counseling and staff development, interviews and selects employees; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors attendance of subordinates. Ensure succession plan and ongoing skills uplift of the team. Create an environment of high engagement through goal setting, performance management, coaching and training.

Experience:

15 or more years of related experience at a professional level (Captive Automotive Finance). Systems integration consulting or system engineering leadership experience for managed infrastructure service providers a plus. Including 7 or more years in a managerial role, providing strategy, vision and direction as well agile implementation. Activities of subordinates or contractors varied considerably in objective and content and encompassed more than one discipline.

Education:Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred. Technology, Management or Program/project management certifications a plus.

Specific Course/Certifications

Cloud Practitioner certification is preferred, as well coaching certified or leadership related.

Thorough computer knowledge with personal productivity tools such as word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tools, Visio, Agile, DevOps management tools and practices.
