Sr. Design Engineer (Circuit Breakers)

Primary Function

Schneider Electric is seeking a motivated individual to serve as Sr. Design Engineer to support the new product development inside the power products Portfolio, particularly Circuit Breakers. The position is based in Monterrey, Mexico and reports to the Power Products organization. The individual is responsible for all aspects of understanding customer needs/requirements from the product being developed and transforming those requirements into solutions through product development. The development process implies an understanding of design thinking, design for manufacturing, and validation methodologies using corporate tools.

Activities

1. Understand product functional requirements and translate that into design needs.
2. Skills in understanding the physical phenomena behind product operation.
3. Manage GD&T methodologies and understand manufacturing processes.
4. Manage validation methodologies using advanced tools such as CAE.
5. Identification and management of technical project risks.
6. Being the main contact point for the Product Design Lead and designers.

Good communication skills are a must (business English conversations).

Qualifications

Requirements

1. Must have 5 or more years of experience in design and development of electromechanical products.
2. B.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or Design degree.
3. General knowledge of manufacturing processes.
4. Master of Science degree is desirable.
5. Ability to influence and convince.
6. Good communication skills are a must (business English conversations).
