Amazon Mexico is looking for a strategic thinker and analytical-focused Senior Manager who is highly motivated with leadership experience and a strong Capacity Planning background. Air transportation is a critical Middle-Mile solution in Amazon's logistics network, rapidly connecting Fulfillment Centers to Last Mile delivery stations.

This role combines sophisticated air network optimization with hands-on operational planning. The position requires expertise in translating complex demand forecasts into actionable operational requirements while managing capacity across multiple nodes. The role is critical in ensuring network efficiency, cost optimization, and service excellence through strategic capacity management, precise resource allocation, and continuous performance monitoring. The ideal candidate bridges analytical expertise with operational knowledge to drive network performance and support business growth. The role will be based in Mexico City.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Lead network capacity analysis and optimization, develop long-term capacity strategies, manage daily capacity planning across nodes, set and adjust capacity in planning systems, monitor and respond to capacity constraints.
  2. Convert forecasts into operational requirements, create node-specific operational plans, track key metrics (attainment, utilization), generate actionable insights from performance data, develop and maintain performance dashboards.
  3. Design and optimize air routes for efficiency, develop contingency routing plans, balance cost optimization with service levels, work with S&OP team to coordinate air demand forecasting.
  4. Work with cross-functional teams such as supply and planning to achieve desired targets.

A Day in the Life

The day begins early with critical morning reviews of yesterday's capacity performance and network-wide utilization. Through focused meetings and data analysis, immediate capacity constraints are addressed and operational requirements are updated based on the latest forecasts. During the day, activities center on detailed resource planning and optimization, where node-specific requirements for routes, staffing, and vehicle allocations are generated and fine-tuned. This period involves extensive stakeholder collaboration and real-time capacity adjustments, internal system setup to ensure optimal network performance. Take on special significance with an enhanced focus on weekly planning. This involves converting forecasts into detailed operational requirements, creating comprehensive node-by-node breakdowns, and setting capacity for the upcoming week.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree;
  2. +6 years of experience in Air Operations (airport, cargo, ground handling);
  3. +5 years of experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams;
  4. Program or project management experience;
  5. +5 years of experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership;
  6. +5 years of experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements;
  7. Fluency in English;
  8. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations;
  9. Interest in long-term career development;
  10. Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization;
  11. +5 years of experience with Excel (including pivot tables, array functions) and data visualization tools.
