Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and integrate backend systems and subsystems for Oracle’s Database Migration Services.
  2. Code in Java, Bash, and/or Terraform to implement solutions effectively.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and availability of services.
  4. Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices to support cloud infrastructure.
  5. Operate and manage the cloud service, including troubleshooting and optimizing performance.
  6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD processes and DevOps practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for individuals who:

  1. Have 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
  2. Hold a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  3. Excel in Java backend development or possess strong DevOps/cloud experience.
  4. Are familiar with REST API design and implementation.
  5. Have solid Linux knowledge, including basic shell scripting (e.g., Bash).
  6. Understand microservice architecture and have experience with Docker.
  7. Bring knowledge of distributed, highly available system design.
  8. Emphasize the importance of unit testing (e.g., JUnit) in their workflow.
  9. Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to automate routine tasks.
  10. Understand SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes.

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Valued)

  1. Experience with frameworks like Dropwizard, Jetty, or JEE.
  2. Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot, or Guice).
  3. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
  4. Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle).
  5. Technical expertise in Application/Server/Storage/Network troubleshooting.
  6. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Oracle Database.
  7. Comfortable using Jira for planning and collaborations.

  2. Proficiency in conveying technical information in English, both in writing and speaking.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging, or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and/or supervise lower-level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
