Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and procedures to enhance productivity and minimize waste.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, program management, and supply chain, and warehouse departments to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
Conduct process capability studies, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis to identify factors impacting product quality and yield.
Utilize lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control plans.
Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing processes and equipment.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & SPECIFIC TASKS
Review, maintain and revise manufacturing work instructions as required in all work centers to ensure clear and precise documentation.
Conduct Process FMEA, Gage R&R and geometric tolerance studies.
Initiate and champion continuous improvement projects in the plant to improve processes, facilities, equipment, and personnel efficiencies through application of Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies.
Work with program management and manufacturing coordinating and implementing activities to support successful new product launches.
Provide recommendations on new equipment that may be required to support new customers or to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Develop processes and provide daily support including SMT, Wave Soldering, Hand Soldering, BGA Repair, cleaning, conformal coating, and other processes as they are implemented.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (ex. Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering) completed required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Surface Mount Technology Process or related Assembly.
Availability to travel to the United States (VISA).
IPC-A-610, JEDEC, ISO and related standard knowledge preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years electronic engineering experience required, preferably in a contract manufacturing environment and/or EMS industry.
Proven and demonstrated experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly, with a strong understanding of SMT processes and equipment, and technical background in SMT.
Proficiency in programming and operating SMT placement machines, soldering equipment, and related tools.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Certification in SMT assembly or related fields is desirable.
Equipment knowledge of Panasonic, ASYS/Ersa Printers and BTU Reflow Ovens preferred.
Excellent profiling skills with experience with ECD, CAM350 and EPM products.
Experienced in Statistical control implementation.
Effective problem solving and organizational skills.
Effective technical communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong interpersonal skills and organization skills with the ability to work within a team environment.
Demonstrate attention to detail and quality.
Strong understanding and command of English and Spanish languages, preferably bilingual, strongly recommended for success in this position.
