The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities
The SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) Leader is responsible for leading and managing the SIOP process to ensure an integrated and synchronized approach to planning and forecasting. This position involves collaborating with various areas (including sales, customer service, supply chain, operations, and finance) to balance supply and demand, optimize inventory levels, and support Morgan Advanced Materials-Cores' strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- SIOP Process Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and institutionalize the SIOP process to align it with business objectives and production models. Continuously evaluate and improve SIOP processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Conduct weekly stakeholder meetings to review SIOP performance, resolve issues, and adjust plans as needed. Ensure active participation and alignment across all departments.
- Collaborate with business intelligence and IT teams to develop accurate reports to facilitate data-driven, action-oriented dialogue.
- Demand Planning:
- Collaborate closely with the sales and customer service teams to integrate accurate demand forecasts, minimize order volatility, and ensure backlog reduction and new product forecasts.
- Support the Sales team in analyzing market trends, historical data, and customer insights to improve forecast accuracy.
- Coordinate the monthly demand review process to develop a consensus-based demand plan across functions and locations.
- Operational Constraints and Planning:
- Coordinate and align with each value stream to understand capacity and asset loads by product family.
- Collaborate with value stream leaders to review and improve factors at the product family level that affect the balance between demand and supply: average unit price, lead time, backlog management, capacity, inventory planning, supply chain risk development, and performance optimization.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks and support all plants in developing accurate raw material strategies, with a focus on intercompany network optimization.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and turnover rates, making adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage inventory valuation and ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demand-Supply Reconciliation:
- Foster strong relationships with key SIOP stakeholders across the organization.
- Identify areas where the value stream is unbalanced and proactively recommend options/scenarios for alignment across functions/locations.
- Communicate SIOP plans and updates to relevant teams.
- Identify anticipated risks with SIOP teams and develop effective risk mitigation plans.
- Analysis, performance metrics, and executive review reports:
- Ensure alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans (plan vs. actual).
- Develop capacity simulation processes to perform sensitivity analysis for growth.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the SIOP process.
- Prepare monthly reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting trends, issues, investment requests, and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must be fully Bilingual Spanish / English and at least be able to communicate English at an intermediate level.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, demand planning, or a related field, including experience implementing the SIOP executive process.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in SIOP software and tools, as well as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and continuous improvement.
- Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP software
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certification
- Specific industry experience, e.g., manufacturing, retail, etc.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
