The Site General Manager leads and delivers manufacturing strategies, with the primary focus on operational management, driving and optimizing all processes to ensure consistently high levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity & People, implementing structures and systems to enable, maintain, and deliver the “One Chromalloy” business plan. The Site Leader will oversee all daily operations of the plant generating a culture of high performance through effective relationships and collaboration/alignment across all functions, ensuring accountability at all levels.
Our Mexicali site is a leading engine component repair business focusing on hot section high- and low-pressure turbine components, delivering over $80M of sales in 2024. The site services customers in both the aero and industrial engine markets.
The Mexicali business is comprised of two facilities covering over 140,000 sq. ft. and over 500 employees. Component repair services include vanes, blades, nozzles and APU stators.
Primary Accountabilities:
Site & Culture
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to all employees and functional areas supporting the successful operations of the business. This will include leading areas not under the direct management of the General Manager and requires strong leadership in a matrix environment.
- Communicate a compelling vision for the site and its role in delivering the One Chromalloy plan, engaging all employees in the expectations and opportunities across the business.
- Build a values and performance-based culture, ensuring that all employees embrace our values, standards, goals and objectives.
- Build the Chromalloy brand by collaborating with customers, employees, community and regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for P&L and operating levers that drive value creation, managing strategic choices to ensure growth, profitability and cash objectives are met.
- Create and implement strategies for business growth. Manage sales execution, while also providing direction on new product and repair introductions.
- Set site strategy and translate strategy into tactical plans that drive execution of financial targets.
People
- Coordinate the development of KPIs and set goals for functions, departments and direct reports that realize business objectives.
- Develop business-wide staffing strategies to execute and realize financial goals and customer expectations.
- Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and development of staff.
Operational
- Optimize operational performance through planning and deployment of Lean methodologies, Continuous Improvement, Productivity, and SIOP processes.
- Manage and ensure the capacity and resources are appropriate to meet the current and future states of the business.
- Drive turnaround time and on time delivery improvement while also driving a safety and quality first culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading repair manufacturing operations, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role with P&L management. Experience with international site leadership, specifically in Mexico, is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field of study is required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industry. Engine MRO experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills in leading large teams through change management.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards and certifications, including AS9100 and NADCAP.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.
- Clear, strategic thinker with vision, with the ability to execute priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency with both Spanish and English.
