ABOUT THIS ROLE

Audible’s Quality Assurance organization promotes product quality and organizational quality ownership through well-defined measurable processes, comprehensive quality assessment, and identification of risk. In addition, the organization provides tools and infrastructure needed to support agile feature delivery, improve quality, and increase engineer productivity. The team includes Quality Assurance Engineers, Quality Assurance Technicians, and Software Engineers working side by side with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, User Experience, and Customer Support staff to understand features, bugs, customer usage, and technical implementation to deliver high-quality products to our customers.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:

1. Drive the creation and execution of test strategy, test plans, and test cases as well as utilize automated tools to optimize the STLC.
2. Perform exploratory testing, automate repetitive tasks and work side by side with software development engineers to deliver high-quality products to Audible customers.
3. Review BRD with Product and development engineers for conformity and functionality.
4. Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for backend services.
5. Conduct end-to-end testing for complex backend systems and APIs.
6. Collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture and identify testing needs.
7. Utilize AWS services for testing environments and deployment of test solutions.
8. Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve software quality.
9. Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools.
10. Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
11. Participate in the development and maintenance of testing frameworks and tools.
12. Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 4+ years of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer or SDET.
2. Experience with REST automation using a programming or scripting language (Java or Python preferred).
3. Experience owning the full test strategy through test completion for major components of a software system.
4. Business fluency in English.
5. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields.
6. Communication skills – ability to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
7. Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals.
8. Thrive in an ambiguous environment - where change is the only constant.
9. Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, collaborate with other test and development teams.
10. Effective multi-tasker comfortable working on multiple products and projects.
11. Experience in testing and test automation for consumer-facing applications and devices.
