In Fortune Brands Innovation, Inc., we're looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer for our New Innovation Center in Nuevo Leon. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate product changes from concept to launch. You will mentor new talent, especially entry-level engineers, with the possibility to mentor interns. Your design work will support our continuous improvement and cost reduction agendas to improve the health of our business.
Job Description
- Lead design and development engineering on assigned projects from concept to production. Provide engineering support and technical assistance to all engineering customers, both internal and external.
- Lead teams in problem solving and failure analysis using engineering analysis tools.
- Drive team to develop capable, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design activities to ensure robust designs are delivered.
- Interact with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Designers, Purchasing, and suppliers to meet the specifications and needs of the customer in the development of new, reliable products for the market.
- Develop, lead, and actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products.
- Lead other team members in resolving multiple complex engineering problems simultaneously in a multiple team environment. Mentor/Coach other team members in problem solving and engineering.
- Continuously improve processes, skills, team environment, and tools necessary to achieve Moen’s product leadership strategy.
- Develop and identify intellectual property claims for Moen while working with project teams.
- Communicate technical information (data, designs and updates) to a non-technical audience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
- Fully Bilingual.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience to include significant manufacturing exposure as well as product development experience is required.
- Experience with International suppliers is preferred.
- Fluent in the use of 3-D CAD (Creo) and PCs.
- Candidate must be familiar in the following areas: Advanced Failure Analysis and scientific problem solving, FEA, FMEA, DOE, QFD, and DFMA. Use of engineering principles, i.e. fluid, mechanical and thermal. Interpretation of statistics related to manufacturing processes and part design.
- Collaborative problem solving techniques, Geometric dimensioning and tolerances, Analysis of component/assembly tolerance stack-ups.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to effectively work with suppliers from different countries/cultures.
- Written and verbal communication skills for dealing with multiple levels of staff, customers, and suppliers.
