Serve as a business partner with the corporation and its operating units within the Corporate Accounting Group performing financial accounting and analysis with a focus on communicating quantitative and qualitative information in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
What You Can Expect
- Perform financial accounting, reporting, and analysis for assigned corporate groups (Benefits, Compensation, Legal, Risk Management, and AR Accounting Support).
- Execute month-end and year-end accounting and closing activities, including detailed account analysis and reconciliations.
- Assist with centralizing accounting activities at the corporate level (e.g., brand expense accrual accounting, balance sheet account reconciliations).
- Help ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and maintain compliance with corporate financial policies.
- Utilize Brown-Forman systems (Business Warehouse, SAP, Access, and Excel) to retrieve, analyze, and manage financial data.
- Manage legal fee accounting and risk management accounting.
- Support expat accounting, relocation expense accounting, and miscellaneous compensation and benefit accounting.
- Assist with analyzing balance sheet fluctuations and preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Contribute to maintaining finance policies, FAQs, and process improvement projects.
- Assist in the execution of special projects as needed.
What You Bring to the Table
- CPA certification or CPA candidate status.
- Must be a team player with the ability to build partnerships and effective relationships.
- Possess strong intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
- Comfortable adapting to changes in the work environment, working under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- Working knowledge or willingness to learn and understand US GAAP and apply it practically.
- Exhibit superior attention to detail with top-notch accuracy and the ability to validate and analyze large datasets.
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions like pivot tables and V-lookups) and PowerPoint.
