JOB SUMMARY:
The Regional Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the HR function in South America. This position strongly supports the HR strategy not only in the countries mentioned but globally to positively impact the business by contributing to a world-class recruitment & selection process, training & development, organizational development, payroll, compensation & benefits, union relations where applicable, performance management and ensure a positive working environment by enhancing CG values and culture within employees.
The position is based in Santiago, Chile.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead HR strategy and ensure metrics in the region are met.
- Ensure CG policies are followed and be a role model for CG values.
- Ensure a strategic recruitment and selection process to provide internal opportunities while identifying the best external talent to cover open positions on time.
- Identify critical training & development needs in operations and corporate functions, including development plans.
- Ensure a robust talent pipeline (successors) for critical roles.
- Support payroll process and seek continuous improvement.
- Continuously analyze compensation and benefits data against the market and ensure a retention plan for key talent.
- Learn new practices and laws related to labor relations that impact hourly and salary employees.
- Manage union relations and ensure no conflicts arise.
- Negotiate with unions, including Collective Bargain Agreements.
- Support global performance management processes with the global team and implement them effectively using SuccessFactors.
- Implement performance improvement plans when needed and participate in decision-making to retain the best talent.
- Lead regional talent review processes to assess potential and identify succession plans.
- Promote team building and maintain high levels of motivation and involvement within the region.
- Continuously improve all HR processes.
- Ensure HR budget is properly reviewed, planned, and submitted.
- Oversee Onboarding & Offboarding processes within the region.
- Develop the HR team within the region.
- Be a great leader for your team and for the organization.
- In conjunction with the Legal department, ensure all employee agreements are well structured and manage terminations.
- Ensure compliance with all Chilean social and governmental institutions.
- Function as legal representative for CG Chile.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
- Master’s degree in labor relations or human resources is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager.
- Good communication & negotiation skills.
- Positive attitude and customer service focus.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in English and Spanish.
- Travel availability: as per business needs.
This position reports hierarchically to the VP HR Americas.
