Job Description

PPS Quality and Project management will be responsible for coordinating Quality activities related to Battery Tray and Pack, managing program milestones training for personnel, standardization of SMP, SOP, and Quality matrix of technology. Inventory management ensuring that spare parts are available. Maintain and audit correct compliance with maintenance activities. Welding matrix management to ensure processes and any changes are correctly updated to eliminate variation between amp sheets and the process to achieve > 90% OPE of assigned equipment.

Develop projects to reduce Transformation Cost.

Perform benchmarking strategies with sister plants to determine actions to avoid any injuries for Toluca Battery Plant.

Coordination of technical training to meet the required levels of 5 Leak Test machine and process, welding instructor to train personnel and technicians in welding and sealing, responsible for managing resources to prevent online production losses using SPW methodologies to accomplish support and analyze execution of battery tray and package components within their process.

Will organize Plant & Quality resources in order to efficiently lead efficiencies in the implementation of projects during Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing processes for new equipment, trial production & launching, and improving operations KAI's & KPI's.

Support Toluca Battery Package as a leader within the organization, implementing Early Equipment Management (EEM) Pillar through application of principles and tools supporting other clusters.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in Welding Process, MIG; TIG manual and automatic equipment is a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotic, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Aeronautical, Controls, Systems, ChemEng, Physics, or related engineering field from an ABET accredited/equivalent university.
  • Proficiency in communicating in technical English language. Highly developed communication skills.
  • Knowledge in IATF, GD&T, CQI15.
  • Knowledge in Cut and Etch method, destructive testing for weld conformance validation.
  • Experience developing P-FMEA and CP.
  • Experience with troubleshooting tools: DMAIC, DOE, Pareto, 8D's, and A3.
  • Knowledge and follow-up of quality indicators.

Soft skills: Self-directed, collaborative (teamwork), ownership, sense of urgency/agile, achiever, leadership & project management skills.

  • Mig Welding and TIG welding experience in fine-tuning, adjusting parameters.
  • Prior experience with software Lincoln, Weld Spun, WTC.
  • Trained and experienced in problem-solving methods like Kaizen, Shainin (Red-X), RPS.
