Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of employees, contractors, plant facilities and assets, fulfilling the company's safety standards and ensuring that third parties comply with them. Responsible for ensuring the optimum and efficient use of technical, material and human resources in manufacturing, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards.

Responsible for planning, managing and monitoring the manufacturing processes in the plant, ensuring an environment of continuous improvement and development for all associates in order to consolidate a world class operation.

Ensures that the plant operation is focused on guaranteeing value for money promised in our brands and creating a high commitment environment of our associates based on the framework of the five principles.

Might establishes and implement the medium and long term strategies in order to guarantee a high performance operation to deliver the market needs according to the S&OP process.

What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualification
  1. Graduated degree in one of the Engineering, basic sciences or business related disciplines.
  2. Bilingual – Spanish as native language & fluent in English.
  3. Ideally 8 years’ experience in a Production Environment.
  4. Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  5. Strong and effective experiences working in Quality and Food Safety and Safety.
  6. Ability to convey communications clearly and concisely.
  7. Understanding of major functions within the operation and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions, from strategic to operational level.
  8. Ability to work in multifunctional teams, influence and lead high impact projects.
  9. World Class Operation – Lean and TPM.
  10. Business & finance fundamentals.
  11. Process and Project management.
  12. Minimum 4 year experience in a food or pharmaceutical production environment.
  13. Ability to tolerate an ambiguous environment.
  14. Experience as Manager role, developing and engaging direct reports.
  15. Effective management of crisis processes.
  16. Effective experience in managing union representatives.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  1. Plant Operation - Establish production strategies, maximizing the use of company resources. Responsible for the medium and long-term strategies to ensure compliance with production, cost objectives, plant service level, product conformity and efficiency of the whole operation.
  2. Implementing new activities and processes for the production of new products.
  3. Engagement & Plant Environment - Establish an environment of job satisfaction and commitment to excellence in the associates and contractors involved in plant activities always very well aligned to the 5 principles. Build a culture of trust and collaboration, leading the engagement and development activities of the team.
  4. Safety - Ensuring compliance to all HSE (Hygiene, safety and environment) standards and procedures, driving the behavioral based safety system with his/her team.
  5. Quality and Food Safety - Ensuring full compliance to all Q&FS Standards. Accountable for the management of quality and hygiene standards on the plant and the complete adherence to the QUALITY principle at all times.
  6. Continuous Improvement - Guarantee an environment of continuous improvement, development and high commitment of our associates. Manage the performance of whole operation and technologies, fostering a route cause analysis culture, leveraging projects and actions to close performance gaps.
  7. Develops continuous improvement programs and training for all plant associates, ensuring the full implementation of MSE (Mars Supply Excellence).
  8. Customer service - Accountable for delivering the production according to the agreed schedule, as measured by Attendance to schedule, ATS.
  9. Investment - Ensure the correct use of the investment guaranteeing its use in projects of efficiency, quality, safety and capacity increase, always in accordance with governance, site priorities and investment strategy of the region.
  10. Promotes and seeks projects and alternatives that reduce the cost of manufacturing in a continuous improvement way.
  11. Personal Development - Keep abreast of the managerial and technical competencies, both within and outside Mars Petcare. Plant Strategy - Establish the investment and guarantee the continuous improvement strategy in order to deliver the commitments required in the S&OP process, from demand and innovation perspectives.
