BASIC FUNCTIONUnder the supervision of the Industrial Engineering and Quality Manager, this position is responsible for determining the standard cost, maintaining SAP & VIS information updated, and giving support to improve productivity and quality in all areas of the organization. This includes conducting KOS events (continuous improvement projects) throughout the year and proposing strategies to improve quality and productivity by implementing Lean Manufacturing philosophy to decrease the final cost of the product.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for coordinating the KOS events (9 per year) and supporting all teams.
- Coaching and execution of lean tools.
- Responsible for yearly SAP Maintenance such as Routings, Rework, Losses, Slip, and Glaze weights.
- Maintain the Layered Process Audit updated and standardized.
- Maintain Standard Work studies updated.
- Responsible for achieving KOS Savings goals and reporting savings on a monthly basis, achieving the goals, and creating a new list every year.
- Conduct a monthly meeting with top-level positions (General Supervisors and Managers) to inform results and continuous improvement strategies.
- Provide support to all areas in the plant on structural fabrication to improve productivity, safety, and quality (Kaizen Team).
- Coordinate the Ops cert program for the plant and manage all documents for ISO external audits.
- Comply with the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position (See Responsibilities chart by position).
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTSSupervisory Relationships: - Direct report to Industrial Engineering and Quality Manager.
- Dotted Line to KOS Manager (corporate).
Organization Relationships: - High contact with General Supervisors and Managers.
- Frequent contact with Quality personnel, Plant Controller, and Corporate.
- Frequent contact with Plant Manager.
External Relationships: N/A.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: Engineering degree. Master’s degree is required.
EXPERIENCE: Preference for 5 years of related experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing Philosophy and Quality Systems.
FORMATION: Preference for Black Belt Six Sigma certification. Required bilingual.
