ABOUT YOUR ROLE
Designs the process of the operational areas to ensure their efficient and safe operation, together with the implementation of said process, design through procedures, work instructions, tools, fixtures, straightedges and/or equipment that allow the objective to be achieved.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Assume any responsibilities and tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor and fulfill them satisfactorily.
- Balance workloads (time taken, etc.).
- Knowledge in ergonomics for workstations.
- Application of continuous improvement methodology (Just in Time, Kanban, Lean, etc.).
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0.
- Use of basic AutoCAD.
- Statistical knowledge.
- Knowledge of MRP / Oracle.
- Responsible for manufacturing KPIs.
- Keep your work area in order and clean.
- Actively participate in the improvement of the Quality/Safety and Environment Management System, based on the procedures and instructions, as well as sharing, understanding and complying with the Quality/Safety and Environment Policy.
- Design the process flow to ensure an adequate flow of raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished product, optimizing the use of physical space and resources.
- Define tools, fixtures, straightedges, poka-yokes, equipment, etc., to ensure a robust process that guarantees product quality.
- Document processes, tools, customer drawings, specifications and any customer requirements through work instructions, procedures, checklists, etc., as required, in accordance with plant quality system guidelines.
- Coordinate the efforts of the work team in carrying out failure modes of the product, and work with the Quality Engineer to ensure adherence to requirements.
- Provide support to the operational areas in problem-solving and method definition.
- Execute cost reduction projects (downtime, material optimization, labor reduction, etc.) and quality improvement (defect reduction, cost of poor quality, etc.).
- Other tasks assigned by your immediate boss.
- Perform basic calculations on machine capabilities and create required documentation.
- Support a positive culture of safety to ensure production lines meet all health and safety requirements.
- Carry out process failure analysis and provide clear root cause investigation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree completed in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field).
- 2-3 years of job experience (Flexography process).
- Systematic problem-solving thinking.
- Technical skills of mechanical and electric equipment.
- Minimum 3 years in an equivalent role.
- Excellent communication at all levels.
- Decision making.
- Knowledge in APQP.
- High communication skills towards all levels of the organization.
- Effective communication (oral and written in English and Spanish).
- Teamwork as a leader or member of the team.
- Goal-focused.
- Risk-Based Thinking.
