Platform Specialist

The Information Systems (IS) platform specialist S4 HANA is responsible for developing a sound knowledge for researching, planning, coordinating and recommending business, cost, strategy, software and system choices to meet an organization's business requirements. The IS Platform Specialist understands problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Job Functions

• The IS platform specialist is an internal consultancy role responsible for investigating processes, technology, cost, and strategy while identifying options for improving and bridging the needs of the business with the use of Information Systems and Technology. An IS platform specialist is responsible for analyzing and documenting the Information Systems needs of clients to help identify problems and propose solutions.
• The IS platform specialist role is to liaise with the internal business departments and the providers of services to the enterprise.
• The IS platform specialist will manage incidents as they occur by working with multiple third party vendors to ensure maintenance and support is carried out effectively among all parties.
• The IS platform specialist is to understand, interpret and suggest resolution to technical systematic issues and communicates these issues effectively to management and peers.
• The scope of analysis is limited to all business functions within a specific business domain.
• As necessary, performs any other relevant duties to aid in the success of the organization.

Experience

• Years overall IS/IT experience with at least:
• 5+ years application development experience.
• 5+ years experience in working with third party vendors.
• Prior experience working with offshore personnel is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Advanced technical degree preferred.
