MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
The Country Medical Director, Pfizer Biopharmaceutical Group will serve as the lead Medical colleague for the country, providing medical leadership and responsible for developing and executing the Country Medical Team’s vision and strategy in alignment with the country LT.
The Country Medical Director is the single point of accountability for medical in the country and works closely cross-functionally to support the product portfolio. He/she will report to the LATAM Regional Medical Lead and be part of the Regional Medical LT. He/she will be responsible for managing a high-performing country Medical organization and will ensure that country medical functions systems, processes, and activities are fully aligned with local, regional, and EM business priorities, strategies, and needs, as well as in compliance with corporate policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
He/she also serves as the key country liaison with country/regional/HQ Commercial, Medical, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Safety, Corporate Affairs, and Legal functions.
The Country Medical Director provides medical guidance and input to the regulatory, safety, and commercial leadership teams in support of key product maintenance and defense activities. He/she will develop strategic partnerships with key clinical and other stakeholders, developing strategies aligned to customer needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive business needs at the cluster level. The lead will also focus on ensuring excellence with respect to medical quality and compliance as well as professional external relations.
