Job Description
  • Responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and operations of accounting systems, budgeting, and financial report preparation.
  • Manages the close process including coordination with Corporate, developing the close calendar and analysis and variance reporting.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of internal control testing over financial reporting and operational processes, identify opportunities & implement improvements.
  • Manage the preparation of documentation required for audits (Internal and External).
  • Conduct detailed reviews of Balance Sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy & proper documentation of financial transactions.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to cross-functional teams including finance, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements and ensures they are distributed in a timely manner. Provides and interprets data from accounting records as required from management.
  • Coordinates accounting services and integrates with operating needs. Oversees the management of functions such as property records, general ledger, and general accounting services (i.e., payroll, leasing).
  • Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team (2 direct reports), providing training and supervision on accounting and auditing matters.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department.
Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Requires at least 8 years of related experience.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Experience in a recognized accounting firm.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Broad expertise in accounting systems and processes.
  • Fluent English.
