Job Description

As a Production Group Leader, you are responsible for implementing and executing the established business plan for an area of the production operations and fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You must possess the ability to deal with complex problems.

What you will do?

  1. Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
  2. Participate in the training, developing, and evaluating of hourly team members.
  3. Participate in the development of highly effective teams.
  4. Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
  5. Meet or exceed production cost schedules and maintain quality requirements.
  6. Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals, and leverage resources to solve quality issues.
  7. Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management.
  8. Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
  9. Implement and follow systems that prevent the reoccurrence of known issues.
  10. Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping.
  11. Motivate, train, and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
  12. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
  13. Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with an emphasis on variation reduction, controlling costs, and achieving productivity improvements.
  14. Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.

Habilidades Requeridas:

  • Carreras afines: Ingeniería Mecánica, Ingeniería Industrial, Ingeniería Mecatrónica o cualquier ingeniería relacionada.
  • Experiencia requerida en posiciones similares: de 1 a 3 años.
  • Disponibilidad para rolar turnos (4x3) trabajando tiempos extras fines de semana.
  • Nivel de Inglés: Intermedio.
  • Habilidades Críticas: Conocimiento en Programación CNC, GD&T, análisis de cuelo de botella, liderazgo y proactividad, ya que va a liderar a equipos de trabajo de personal operativo.
