Lead Data Scientist, Advanced Analytics

We're looking for someone who identifies business needs, aligns with key stakeholders, and is passionate about problem solving through the power of ML and AI. This role involves seamlessly connecting model findings to business strategy and generating recommendations that fit business reality. The ideal candidate will be seen as a leader in Marketing and eCommerce data science, solving complex causal inference problems, and has experience in MMM (Marketing Mix Model) development, experimentation (A/B test design and measurement), multi-armed bandit optimization, customer segmentation, and ML operations.
This individual will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. They will frequently contribute to the development of innovative ideas and methods, coach less experienced staff members, and lead several complex projects. The role involves working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and providing direction and guidance to process improvements and policy establishment.
The candidate will frequently represent the organization to external customers/clients and exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Maintaining relationships with all stakeholders in the scoped domain is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively review technical literature, learn new methodologies, and align with Data Science leaders.
- Work with Data Science leaders to develop innovative solutions to existing or new business challenges.
- Identify business needs, align with key stakeholders, organize the analytics team, seamlessly connect model findings to business strategy, and generate recommendations that fit business reality.
- Define and implement models to uncover patterns and predictions that create business value and innovation.
- Lead complex cross-organizational projects involving several Data Scientists.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
- Provide domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives.
- Effectively collaborate with Managers, Directors, EXEC2s, and EXEC3.
- Develop clear presentations for senior decision-makers, including cases for change, options, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Manage relationships with business partners to evaluate and foster data-driven innovation.
- Support their people leader with skills assessment, feedback, and hiring criteria/approach.
- Translate insights into effective visualizations that communicate business value and innovation potential.
- Maintain proficiency within the data science domain by keeping up with technology and trend shifts, contributing to industry data science domain initiatives.
Role Requirements:
- Extensive experience using statistics, mathematics, algorithms, and programming languages to solve business problems.
- Experience in MMM (Marketing Mix Model), experimentation (A/B test design and measurement), multi-armed bandit optimization, and customer segmentation.
- Ability to define and create complex models to extract valuable insights, predictions, and innovations from data.
- Effectively and creatively tell stories and create visualizations to describe and communicate data insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Python and SQL.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery of English.
- Ability to effectively communicate data insights and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Typically, 6-10 years of relevant work experience.
