Role Purpose

The HR Shift Representative is primarily responsible for providing human resources support during assigned shifts. This position ensures smooth operations by addressing employee concerns, managing disciplinary actions, supporting hourly onboarding processes, and maintaining accurate reports and metrics. The HR Shift Representative plays a critical role in fostering positive labor relations and ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Employee Services and Support:
   • Conduct Gemba Walks to identify workplace issues.
   • Address union-related matters effectively.
   • Provide guidance and consultation to supervisors on HR-related issues.
   • Serve as the first point of contact for union delegates.
   • Respond to inquiries from supervisors and general staff promptly.
   • Coordinate or participate in roundtable discussions.
2. Disciplinary Actions and Labor Cases:
   • Manage disciplinary actions including conducting investigations.
   • Handle critical cases efficiently while preparing detailed disciplinary reports.
3. Onboarding and Employee Transitions:
   • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
   • Manage changes related to unionized personnel grades.
   • Follow up with new employees over their initial 90 days.
4. Reports & Metrics Management:
   • Report on absenteeism rates & turnover statistics regularly.
   • Prepare weekly shift-based reports along with generating ratio analysis documents.
   • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related specifically to labor relations whilst keeping track of relevant metrics.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or Labor Relations or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Basic/intermediate proficiency in verbal & written English language skills.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• TRESS system knowledge (or similar employee system).
