About the Role

Are you an expert in surety with strong interpersonal skills, enjoy direct client contact? This might be your next challenge:

You will be responsible to service North America Surety clients with International Surety needs. It includes timely and accurate handling of client/broker requests and inquiries and coordination through the lifecycle. In particular, your responsibilities will include the following:

1. Closely interact and coordinate with internal stakeholders in International Surety Desk and Underwriters located in North America.
2. Process and administer bonds in systems and tools to include checking and coordinating issuance of such documents and administrate throughout their entire lifecycle.
3. Support underwriting during the renewal processes. Obtain quotes and coordinate with the client/broker regarding international bonds and guarantees including drafting bond wordings.
4. Administer syndicated loans, co-insurance, risk participation, and other complex transactions.
5. Analyze and identify premium and fee discrepancies and determine appropriate measures.

About the Team

Credit & Surety Operations is an emerging team transforming into a trusted partner, closely collaborating with the global Surety business teams. We strive for high customer satisfaction and help the business to achieve its profitable growth aspiration. Our team is spread across many locations in Europe, Asia Pacific, as well as North and Latin America. As part of the International Surety transformation project, we are implementing a new International Surety Model with new roles and responsibilities, standardizing and improving processes. As a part of this model, we are also extending our international surety partner network.

Education

Completed commercial education preferably banking specialist or bachelor degree in economics or law. Associates Degree or job experience equivalent.

Experience

1. Direct / Reinsurance Experience with bonds placement especially in Latin America.
2. Experience in dealing with network partners is a plus.
3. Knowledge on bank guarantees and business is a plus.
4. Basic knowledge and understanding of surety business as well as direct issuance and fronting.
5. Basic knowledge on sanctions and AML procedures, commercial and company law, ICISA forms and other international rules is a plus.
6. Previous experience in client-facing role preferably in finance environment.
7. Linguistics: Proficiency in English and Spanish language is a must and knowledge of Portuguese language, reading, written and verbal, is a plus. Additional languages of relevant markets (especially French, German) are a plus.

Technical Competencies

1. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and SWIFT messages for documentary business is a plus.
2. Demonstrate competency in intermediate level math, administrative and clerical procedures including handling files and records, general economic and accounting principles, and processes for providing customer service.
3. Excellent reading comprehension, verbal and written skills.
4. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and programs to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and stay updated with the team supported.
