Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an Industrial Safety Intern in our Rojo Gomez Plant located in Av. Javier Rojo Gómez 1121-A, Guadalupe del Moral, Iztapalapa, 09300 Ciudad de México, CDMX.

Mission

1. Set up and monitor an ongoing and dynamic approach to Environment/Health & Safety.
2. Manage H&S issues and improvement plans, deploy H&S standards.
3. Manage environmental issues of industrial and logistics sites: waste management, management of the emission generated by the Group, definition of Best Available Technologies for the Industrialization of Schneider Electric products, deployment of environmental standards (ROHS, W3E, etc...).
4. Promote and assist management in the development and application of the group Health policy relevant to protection of all employees (physical, mental and social well being...), propose and increase the deployment of management tools.
5. Establish prevention programs in order to avoid work-related accidents and occupational illnesses, and related costs.
6. Provide support to healthcare and monitor regulatory changes.

Key Responsibilities

Performs complete Environment, Occupational Health & Safety activities or/and carries out analysis or recording on specific issues.

Main Activities

1. Make survey of the regulation evolution, evaluate the compliance of specific points and propose related action plans.
2. Alert and Support in case of emergency, in compliance with internal procedures.
3. Process the local legal requirements (deliverables external to the site for local authorities) regarding Safety, Ergonomics.
4. Support the Occupational Risk Assessment & site impact assessment (with a special focus on the top hazards).
5. Contribute to the Environmental impact analysis.
6. Contribute to the Ergonomics diagnoses led by the Ergonomics Leader (IST3).
7. Support the design & audit the application of HSE procedures.
8. Pilot some HSE actions and support the deployment of HSE methodologies, best practices etc.
9. Improve HSE skills of employees and impart training activities, communication campaigns, teamwork.
10. Assure daily operational tasks linked to the job (prevention plan, waste traceability, Globes, Resource Advisor).

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial design, industrial engineering, Environment, industrial administration, Mecatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Being an active student for 1 year or more.
• Graduation on December 2025.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of problem-solving methodology.
• Desirable knowledge of Safety and Environment NOM's, OHSAS, Ergonomics, Safety Pictograms, civil protection principles, and legal safety requirements.
