Job Description

The position will develop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes and or product quality. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical to your success at General Motors. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has a Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering, along with experience working in a manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, status, and analyze Manufacturing Master Schedules in sufficient detail to monitor progress, assess program status, and identify performance issues in a timely manner.
  2. Use critical path methodology and application in network development, analysis, and problem resolution.
  3. Optimize sequence of operations and work flow.
  4. Create crew plans to ensure resources are properly allocated and utilized effectively.
  5. Create metrics to monitor schedule progress and help identify risk areas.
  6. Work to improve efficiencies through waste elimination and process improvements.
  7. Perform data analysis to establish shop metrics and tackle complex problems.
  8. Provide technical support and assistance to manufacturing and maintenance team members, production supervisors, and production associates.

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering, along with experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  2. At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  3. English speaking and writing skills (medium level).
  4. Knowledge & experience using AutoCAD.
  5. Knowledge in ergonomics studies.
  6. Knowledge in head count productivity (Pillar Charts, Workload rebalance).
  7. Knowledge in Value Stream Mapping.
  8. Experience in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP).
  9. Work on site 100% of the time M-F Availability of time.
