About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Head of Sales for the Mexican Market to join our growing team in Mexico City. This role will focus on prospecting, engaging, and closing new clients and its primary responsibility will be to identify potential customers, demonstrate the value of our cross-border payment and banking solutions, and convert prospects into long-term clients. You must be passionate about sales, eager to learn, and attentive to details. You must also be able to develop a deep understanding of Tensec’s products & solutions and the industry to be able to match our offering with the right customer, suggest new product features to enable the long-term success and growth of our customers and open new business opportunities for Tensec.

You will also be a key leader responsible for developing and executing Tensec’s sales strategy, driving growth in one of our most important markets. You will establish and scale our presence in Mexico, working closely with internal teams and external partners to acquire and retain clients in the B2B fintech space. This is a hands-on role that requires strategic thinking, relationship building, and a deep understanding of the Mexican financial services landscape.

Positions in our hubs are hybrid and include core working days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office. We provide flexible work options based on distance from our hubs. Tensec believes in the power of face-to-face, personal connection. As a result, we prioritize in-person candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the Mexican market, aligned with the company’s global objectives. Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  2. Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and research potential customers in key industries and markets. Qualify inbound leads and generate outbound leads through cold calls, emails, and social media outreach. Build a pipeline of prospective customers by leveraging CRM tools, industry databases, and market insights. Initiate and develop relationships with decision-makers at businesses of all sizes, including near-shoring, international trade companies, and other businesses that need cross-border financial solutions. Conduct effective discovery calls to understand clients’ pain points and financial needs.
  3. Product Presentation: Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations of our digital solutions, including FX transactions, cross-border payments, and US bank accounts. Clearly articulate the value proposition and tailor it to specific client use cases.
  4. Closing Deals: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to encourage repeat business. Negotiate terms, manage objections, and finalize agreements to achieve sales targets. Ensure seamless onboarding of new clients, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
  5. Client Relationship Management: Own and drive the country’s P&L, ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, and cost efficiency. Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
  6. Collaboration and Reporting: Monitor progress towards meeting sales goals and report results to management. Collaborate with operations to onboard the customer on the Tensec platform in compliance with all local and global compliance requirements. Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align efforts and share insights. Proactively suggest product improvements to the Product team to build the sales pipeline and enhance cross-sell opportunities. Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and pipeline progress in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Collaborate with other members of the sales team to develop strategies to achieve sales goals. Stay up to date on market and industry trends, competition, and customer needs and provide feedback to other team members to support company growth and product development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • English fluency (both verbal and written).
  • Experience in B2B sales or business development and proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in the Mexican market.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies and experience with outbound prospecting tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.

You will stand out if:

  • Knowledge of the Mexican financial ecosystem and regulations, and a strong understanding of cross-border financial services, FX transactions, and/or digital banking solutions.
  • Experience selling financial products and services.
  • Experience in building and scaling sales teams in a high-growth start-up environment.
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
