What will you do?

As a Factory Supporter - Mechanical Design, you will play a critical role in bridging communication between the Queretaro Factory assembly lines and the MV-US Engineering team during the manufacturing of Medium Voltage Switchgear.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Risk Management: Identify potential design-related risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects in engineering and drafting deliverables.
  2. Requirements Review: Analyze customer specifications and requirements, ensuring project outcomes align with expectations.
  3. Mechanical Ownership: Take full ownership of the Bill of Materials (BOM) for mechanical projects, including creating new assemblies, validating functionality, and releasing parts to production.
  4. Design Leadership: Guide and provide direction to a team of mechanical designers, translating your concepts into accurate 3D models.
  5. Factory Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing teams to address production challenges and ensure smooth implementation of designs.
  6. Product & Process Improvement: Identify and implement product design enhancements and offer feedback to improve engineering tools and processes.
  7. Engineering Ownership: Lead the mechanical design experience during quotation, approval, detailed engineering, and post-project analysis phases.
  8. Team Leadership: Manage team activities, including training and coaching new team members, schedule management, and stakeholder coordination, resolving escalations and day-to-day challenges.
  9. Quality Assurance: Conduct mechanical quality checks and lead initiatives to improve First Pass Yield (FPY). Ensure adherence to best design practices (e.g., part numbering and standard assemblies).
  10. Continuous Improvement: Drive updates and enhancements to the DTO Library, ensuring defect-free designs that prioritize functionality, safety, and manufacturability.
  11. Employee Development: Foster a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement with a focus on team skills development.

What You'll Bring?

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years in a technical engineering role, with at least 1 year in a made-to-order manufacturing environment.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency with 3D modeling tools, demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD, experience working with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems, and a strong understanding of complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  4. Work Requirements: Must be physically present in the Balvanera Office (Monday to Saturday). No travel required.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  1. Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for medium-voltage switchgear.
  2. Experience in electrical design for medium voltage equipment.
