Job Summary

In the role of an Environmental Engineer, you will lead and/or support Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Acero Prime facility performance and compliance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establish guidelines for protection from those hazards.
  • Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Audit safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
  • Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alert line management to problems.

Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering (UADEC, ITS, UANE, or ITESM graduates preferred).
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
  • + 25 years old
  • Interest in environmental protection and industrial safety practices
  • Current or previous experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and previous experience acting as a company representative
  • Demonstrated experience preparing reports, permits, licenses, plans and associated documents for submittal to Federal, State and local regulatory agencies
  • Desirable experience in leading and managing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949/ISO9001/ASTM Standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic understanding of key EHS trends and issues
  • Strong focus on working with data, data analysis, and driving projects independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
